The next Bay to Birdwood Classic will be held on Sunday, 27th September 2009.Breakfast With The Cars has become a classic start to the day as entrant vehicles start arriving from 6am ahead of their official flag off by Mr Glen Dix of Grand Prix fame at 9am. This is your chance to get up close and personal with motoring history. Meet the owners, admire these stunning vehicles and remember when ... back to an era when cars and music were the lifestyle. The Classic invites entries from vehicles manufactured between 1 January 1956 and 31 December 1977, so this is all about an era which gave rise to the Hills Hoist, the FC Holden, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Bandstand, Barbie Doll, the space race, rock 'n roll, hippies, the mini, the combi, drive in... This is Australia's greatest motoring show! A variety of breakfasts is provided by service organisations washed down with jazz and other entertainment to build the excitement ahead of the Classic ceremony which sees entrant vehicles depart on the 70km journey to the National Motor Museum. Coming to a neighbourhood near you!!!! The 2007 Bay to Birdwood Classic will travel through metropolitan Adelaide before heading up into the Adelaide Hills. Where is the best vantage point????? View the 2007 route map here and you will see that this amazing major event truly does pass right past your own doorstep. Be a part of this memorable day. It is a two hour non-stop classic parade of vehicles - don’t miss your chance to view this stunning sight! We suggest that anyone travelling to Birdwood to enjoy the Finish with us, uses the SE Freeway taking the Hahndorf turn off and driving across the Onkaparinga Valley to Birdwood. Program details will be released in July 2007.
The National Motor Museum at Birdwood is a fitting setting for the Finish of the Bay to Birdwood Run. History and heritage meet each other in the Adelaide Hills. Soak up the wonderful atmosphere - meander amidst the parked vehicles, watch the judging of the Concours d’elegance, pack a picnic basket and join many of the entrants in the paddock or pre-order a basket filled with Adelaide Hills regional produce. Avoid the traffic and travel to Birdwood via the SE Freeway to Hahndorf and then through the Onkaparinga Valley It is a great family day out with a Finish program offering something for everyone to enjoy. From regional Food and Wine Court to dance floor to a full entertainment program to supervised Kiddies' Korner to Councours d'elegance judging to the latest exhibitions at the National Motor Museum. It is a classic day in the Adelaide Hills. |
