Bay to Birdwood Run
The sun had just risen over the Adelaide Hills when the very first vehicles started arriving at Adelaide Shores. It was only 6am but the excitement was already palpable as the marvellous veteran, vintage and early classic vehicles readied themselves for Bay to Birdwood Run.
Breakfast With The Cars is a tradition with car owners and spectators. It is an opportunity to mix 'n mingle with entrants and their vehicles. A variety of breakfasts were provided by local vendors and it was washed down with jazz and other vintage entertainmen at the starting line ahead of Glen Dix waving the flag off at 8:30 am to entrants.
This year's route is yet to be finalised.
The gates opened at the National Motor Museum at 10am with the first entrant vehicles arriving at approximately 10:30am just as the mainstage entertainment program got underway.
Visitors soaked up the wonderful atmosphere - meandering amidst the parked vehicles, watching the judging of the Concours d'elegance, enjoying a packed picnic basket and joining many of the entrants in the paddock or pre-ordered basket filled with Adelaide Hills regional produce. Admission to the Finish also included entry into the National Motor Museum. Many visitors were dressed in the era to be selected by roving judges as finalist in the Fashions in The Field. The regional Hills produce tent had wine by the glass and a choice of foodplatters from regional food producers. There is also a wide choice of other food stalls as well as activities just for the kids.
